“I went with an identical coloration to her first wig,” says Furey. “I used to be attempting to indicate [with the hair throughout the film] she’s [first] an harmless younger lady — she’s herself. Then we see her transition away from herself after which again to herself [once she leaves her husband]. She’s gone again to pure once more — her make-up is extra tanned and he or she does not have the massive eyebrows and he or she does not have the massive eye make-up on, so it’s like going from herself as a younger lady rising into one thing she’s not with him after which again to her.”

An enormous a part of making the wigs look sensible on each Spaeny and Elordi, the latter of who wore three hairpieces that have been built-in along with his pure hair to attain Elvis’s signature ‘do, was altering the actors’ hairlines. Furey and Butterworth had zoom conferences about it and would draw new hairlines on pictures.
“Priscilla Presley’s hairline even to today, it is fairly full and spherical and dense,” says Furey. “It is low. Cailee’s is a bit larger and though I did not wish to impersonate Priscilla, I simply felt that I wanted to fill the hairline out. I did the identical with Jacob. Elvis’s hair was additionally very rounded — rounded corners, very dense, very full — so I altered Jacob’s hairline.”

When Priscilla had her daughter, Lisa Marie, she went into the hospital in full glam. Furey says that Spaeny was in not only a wig however an extra hairpiece to recreate the look. “I used outdated classic hair toppers from the ‘50s, they’re virtually like a three-quarter or half of a wig,” says Furey. These hair toppers, which Furey says have been common for ladies to put on within the ‘50s and ’60s, are so dense that including one primarily meant Spaeny was carrying two wigs. “That has to have been heavy,” Furey says. “Cailee is tinier than Priscilla, she’s very petite, so I did not need the hair to put on her, so I used to be cautious within the sizes, like how huge I put the hair. I wished it to work for her as properly so she might pull it off and I really feel like she did.”
